Kev (Don’t call him Kevin, he gets offended!) is an English national who started diving off the coast of Kenya and has dived, worked and run IDC’s in diverse locations such as the UK, Malta, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Egypt, Honduras and of course the Canaries.
Kev has worked as a Divemaster, filling tanks, loading boats and acting as a dive guide. Then he managed several dive centres, all the way through to owning a successful dive business. So he is familiar with all aspects of the business of diving.
Kev has over 15 years of experience with teaching PADI Instructor Development programs and, in addition to being a PADI Platinum Course Director, he is:
- an experienced Manager of 5 Star Instructor Development Centers
- PADI EANx Instructor Trainer
- PADI Specialty Instructor Trainer
- Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer
- DAN Oxygen Instructor Trainer
- over 3000 logged dives
- recently awarded by PADI with the prestigious Platinum Course Director status
In 2005 Kev arrived on Lanzarote after spending time on Utila heading up the IDC programme for a well respected dive college. Before that he spent 2 years running IDC’s in Egypt. Working extensively in both resort “tourist” environments in a variety of tropical locations and in the “city orientated” environments of London and Christchurch (NZ), he is familiar with the benefits and drawbacks of both.
Knowledge drawn from these experiences together with his background in sales management adds a lot of valuable information to the various business and marketing presentations during the IDC and career advancement programs.
