Canary Island Divers on Lanzarote is a family business and that is the way we run it. Our team is small, friendly and very professional. Safety first is our motto and all of our staff are Oxygen Providers and up to date CPR and First Aid Instructors including Pediatric Care.
New staff – including freelance and part-time staff – have to go through an internship in order to make sure all of us teach the same high level and making sure both, dive industry and local diving regulations are adhered to.
To make sure that we are all teaching to the most up to date educational standards, we are conducting regular staff updates, not only on training but also on diving, medical issues and local diving law.
PADI Course Director and PADI TEC Trimix Instructor Trainer
Kev – Owner, Manager, Boss, Chief, God (as he likes to be called) – started diving in 1994 whilst on holiday in Kenya and hasn´t looked back since. You may not see Kev in the water as much now but that doesn´t mean his love of the underwater world has changed any. If you are coming to Canary Island Divers to complete your Instructor Development Course or any Tec courses then he is your man!
Fav thing about diving:
PADI Master Instructor, EFR Instructor Trainer
Cat started diving in 2007 in Thailand, whilst backpacking around Asia. Although she had had no real interest prior to this as soon as she started she was hooked! And it is for this exact reason that she enjoys teaching Open Water courses, seeing others come out the water as divers with that sense of amazement that she had felt. From Thailand, Cat continued her diving days whilst living in Australia before moving to Lanzarote to complete her Instructor´s course in 2010, where she has stayed since.
Favourite thing about diving: Exploring a world unknown to so many.
Manu Gonzalez Buendia
PADI IDC Staff Instructor, EFR Instructor
Manu started diving back in 2010 on Benidorm Island (for those of you who didn´t know there is an island off the coast of Benidorm!). From a young age Manu was always interested in the water and diving but the opportunity didn´t arise until a friend of his gave him the chance to try diving. After 15years working in the same business Manu was looking for a change and thats when the opportunity arose for him to move to Lanzarote and join us here at Canary Island Divers to become a Scuba Diving Instructor.
